Song of Fruition

The island of Coreza is a relatively minor, but increasingly significant trade island nation in the Arcadian Ocean a few hundred miles off the coast of Ravounel and Cheliax. On Its eastern shore is the harbor city of Sanguine Bay and on its western cliff covered side is the town of Lanord.

Every ten years the island celebrates the Festival of Abadar, an eight day carnival the culminates in the playing of the Song of Fruition on the Flute of Civilization. Tradition has it that the group who plays the flute will receive bountiful riches, but failure to play the song on the flute at the peak of the festival will lead to economic downturn for the whole island over the next decade.

Once played, the artifact flute vanishes only to reappear somewhere on the island prior to the next festival. It is six months before the festival of 4725 AR, and the Crowned High Lord, Lord’s High Council, and Merchants Guild — the joint government of the island — has called the Hunt for the Flute. Adventurers from around the island and beyond are gathering to search for the artifact to bring themselves and their sponsors the glory and riches associated with being the ones who play the flute.
